For the person like me…
The one unintentionally committed to mediocracy in work, as a result of it often being more than enough to impress peers and superiors. I think it’s time we give it up and start giving 100 percent. Yes, we’ve gotten the A’s in school and the good reviews at work, but has that ever been enough. I know I’ve walked away from so many situations with a form of regret because I knew I could have given far more. You would think the regret would have been enough for me to change my ways and go all in, but it never was. The praise of others would always override my few moments of regret and keep me content in my constant cycle. I can no longer measure my work based on the pleasure of others though. My desire to apply the scripture tells me I must change.
As Christians we have been called to work whole heartedly unto Christ. Meaning, our work should be pleasing to him and we should be committed to the work as if we are doing it for him. So, from now on, if I haven’t given my all to the work at hand then I have not given enough. Good enough has never been enough. Now is the time to be fully committed to every work that we have been given, not only as servants of Christ but as representatives of him.
Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Let’s go all in!

Courtney
